Friday, December 6th, marks the debut of the Nomadic Arts Festival at the Oshwal Center in Westlands, Nairobi. Attendees can expect an immersive musical experience where traditional rhythms meet contemporary sounds, led by Turkana Sessions and the Turkana Sessions Orchestra alongside a thoughtfully curated lineup of artists from both regions. Rooted in this creative exchange is the Artists Xchange project, which brings together artists from Turkana and Nairobi to create work that reflects and responds to the realities of Northern Kenya. Working across disciplines such as music, film, fashion, visual art, photography, and video art, the project highlights a diverse range of voices and perspectives, showcasing lived experiences and shared stories from the region.
