The first ever Nomadic Arts Festival launched in spectacular fashion at the Oshwal Centre on December 6th, bringing together partners united in promoting and preserving nomadic culture on a global stage. The festival delivered a vibrant musical experience, headlined by Turkana Sessions, with standout performances including Sanaipei Tande’s tribute to her Maa roots and the HVMND Ensemble’s orchestral fusion of folk and classical sounds. DJ Dylan-S added a contemporary edge, blending electronic beats with traditional influences. Beyond the music, the event showcased striking visual elements, with traditional attire and beadwork enhancing both the aesthetic and sonic experience. Exceeding expectations, the Nomadic Arts Festival’s debut offered an immersive celebration of Turkana and Maa heritage, leaving audiences with a deeper appreciation of Kenya’s nomadic cultures.
