Turkana Sessions is a music project set for release on the 21st of March that showcases the rich musical heritage of the Turkana people through a collaboration between four local artists and Nairobi-based composer Eddie Grey. Developed under The Artists Xchange initiative, the project blends traditional Turkana sounds with contemporary guitar rhythms to create a fresh and authentic sound while visually capturing the region’s striking landscapes. As the third project from The Artists Xchange, it continues the initiative's mission of uniting artists across the board to respond to regional issues and amplify underrepresented voices. Beyond the music, Turkana Sessions seeks to challenge outdated perceptions of Northern Kenya by highlighting its cultural richness and inspiring a deeper appreciation of local heritage.
