“Floating, Flying”: The Second Artists Xchange Series highlights the Ateker region - October 18th, 2019

The Artists Xchange, a companion project to the Turkana: Race for Resources documentary, is a year-long initiative bringing together artists from Turkana, Karamoja, Kampala, and Nairobi to create works reflecting the challenges facing the Ateker region. Turkana and Karamoja have long experienced marginalization despite being resource-rich, creating complex social and economic realities. As these regions change rapidly, it provides a platform for artists to engage with and amplify these issues. Its second instalment, Floating, Flying, was supported by the British Council’s East Africa Arts nAnA program, encouraging cross-border collaboration.
