The second The Artists Xchange project, “Floating, Flying,” is a collaboration between artists from Karamoja, Turkana, and Nairobi, blending décor, beading, and leatherwork to reflect shared and individual heritage. Shot near Eliye on Lake Turkana, it highlights the cultural richness of the Ateker region while engaging with its changing realities. With recent discoveries of oil, water, and minerals, these areas are rapidly transforming, raising questions of ownership, identity, and equity. Floating, Flying uses art as a platform for dialogue, emphasizing the importance of communities as equal partners and custodians of their heritage.
