Turkana Sessions is a distinctive music project produced by Content House Kenya that celebrates the rich culture and landscapes of Turkana through a live-recorded, 10-track album. The project brings together four Turkana artists: Jackson Nakuwa (aka Msanii Tosha), Mourine Apuu, Jackson Ekori, and Elizabeth Korikel, alongside renowned Nairobi-based musician Eddie Grey, blending traditional Turkana sounds with rich and vibrant guitar rhythms to create a unique and captivating fusion. Featuring songs such as Ikabore Ekwang’, Aluwai Etori Ayong’, Awiwi, and One Train, the project reimagines traditional music with contemporary production while preserving its authenticity. Beyond music, Turkana Sessions seeks to challenge long-held narratives of Northern Kenya by highlighting its cultural depth, natural beauty, and creative potential, encouraging audiences to reconnect with and draw inspiration from local heritage.
