Floating, Flying is the follow-up project from The Artist Xchange initiative, an extension of the documentary Turkana: Race for Resources. The project reflects the social and political realities shaping northern Kenya and neighboring regions. Both Turkana and Karamoja have long faced marginalization despite their natural resources, though recent discoveries of oil, water, and minerals have accelerated change. In this context, Floating, Flying highlights growing calls for communities to be recognized as equal partners and custodians of their heritage.
